GOING TO SENEGAL

GENERAL INFORMATION AND GUIDANCE NOTES

NEW RULES
To board a plane bound for Senegal from the United Kingdom or Ireland, the holder of a British or European passport needs the following documents:
• a valid passport;
• a special boarding authorization issued by the Embassy of Senegal in London
• A negative COVID-19 test

We can only issue special boarding authorisations to applicants travelling from the United Kingdom or Ireland.

BRITISH CITIZENS
To apply for a special boarding authorisation, it is necessary to ELECTRONICALLY fill out the application form below. Please send your application to this dedicated visa service email address: senegalembassy@hotmail.co.uk with the following supporting documents:

• Passport scan
• Airline ticket

You will note in the application form that we only ask details of your flights going into Senegal. Flights details out of Senegal should not be entered in the form. Processing time is 2 working days if the application is straight forward.

OTHER EUROPEAN CITIZENS

If the applicant is holding another European passport, it is possible to apply for a special boarding authorization if he / she falls into one of the following categories:

To apply for a special boarding authorisation, it is necessary to ELECTRONICALLY fill out the application form below. Please send your application to this dedicated visa service email address: senegalembassy@hotmail.co.uk with the following supporting documents:

• Passport scan
• Airline ticket
• Proof of the essential nature of your travel or that you fall under one of categories below.

Processing time is 2 working days if the application is straight forward.

List of authorised individuals

• Airline flight personnel;

• Passengers in transit;

• Diplomats, staff of international organizations and people who are invited by the Government or international organizations and whose physical presence is necessary for the proper functioning of these organizations or work carried out in Senegal;

• Health professionals, researchers in the health field;

• Military personnel, humanitarian workers and civil protection personnel in the performance of their duties;

• Passengers traveling for imperative family reasons;

• People in need of international protection or for other humanitarian reasons;

• Third country nationals who are studying in Senegal;

• Highly qualified third-country nationals if their employment is economically necessary and their work cannot be postponed or carried out abroad;

• Persons duly authorized by a competent authority mandated by the Government of the Republic of Senegal.

UEMOA and ECOWAS CITIZENS
It should also be noted that nationals of UEMOA and ECOWAS countries are currently exempt from the travel restriction and, at their request, special boarding authorizations can be issued to them.

SENEGALESE RESIDENCY PERMIT HOLDERS
The same applies to foreign nationals regularly established in Senegal and hold a valid “Senegalese Residency permit”.
