H.E Ambassador Dr. Fatimata Dia of the Embassy of Senegal to the UK paid a courtesy call today at the Embassy of Liberia in London where H.E Ambassador Gurly Gibson Schwarz was delighted to welcome her.
There were a number of significant discussions which took place during the meeting that drew upon the importance of fighting for the empowerment and participation of women in all spheres of the workplace including the diplomatic sphere.
H.E Dr. Fatimata Dia and H.E Gibson Schwarz spoke passionately about the challenges women continue to face and the necessity of advocating for women’s rights and access to education. The inclusion of more women in decision making positions significantly benefits society within all fields including social and economic.
Her Excellency Dr. Fatimata Dia reminisced on happy memories from her visit to Liberia and exclaimed the significant progress Liberia has made under the current Liberian President, George Manneh Weah. This includes his advocacy for human rights, peace, safety and development.
The meeting concluded with each Ambassador expressing their intentions of working together to continue to advance both their countries for future generations.
