We are very pleased to welcome His Excellency General Cheikh Wade, our new Ambassador of Senegal to the UK, as he presents copies of his credentials ahead of the ceremony with H.M. The King.
General Wade joined the Army in 1983 and most recently held the position of Chief of General Staff of the Senegalese Armed Forces from 2021 to 2023.
Further back, his appointments have included:
➡️ Observer at the United Nations Mission between Iraq and Kuwait (UNIKOM); 2001-2002;
➡️ Military planner at the United Nations Office at the African Union (UNOAU), Ethiopia 2008-2009;
➡️ Operations and plans officer in support of the African Union Mission in Somalia 2009-2012;
➡️ Chief of Staff of MICEGA during Operation “Restore Democracy” in Gambia in 2017.
We wish him every success in his new responsibilities to further strengthen 🇸🇳🇬🇧 relations in all areas.
