On Friday, December 6th, Ambassador Wade arrived in Glasgow to commence a three-day visit to Scotland.
On Saturday, December 7th, his visit coincided with a Senegalese community event organized by the Scottish Senegalese Society. Embassy staff were on hand to provide consular services, including passport applications and birth registrations.
On Sunday, December 8th, Ambassador Wade traveled to Edinburgh to explore the Scottish War Memorial Museum, which is located within Edinburgh Castle.
On Monday, December 9th, he visited the City of Glasgow College, where Jacquie Massie and Douglass Thomson gave him a tour of their impressive facilities. They also discussed opportunities for delivering various training programs to students and capacity building for teaching staff in Senegal through remote learning.
Following this, he met with the Lord Provost of Glasgow, Jacqueline McLaren, to discuss the involvement of the Senegalese community in next year’s 850th anniversary celebrations of the City of Glasgow.
